Hi, I’m Brenna Curtis, and I am deeply excited to be a part of the Salvador adventure. Happily, this is my 18th year teaching elementary school for NVUSD. I used to play at Salvador with my best buddies as a kid, now to work here is like I’m walking into a fun dream. I’ve taught many grades all the way through 6th,with focus on 4th and 5th, and even taught for a few years at California State University, Sacramento. I am a national Key Trainer for Project GLAD, a teacher training model in best practices that weaves language, brain, cultural, and reading/writing research together. It is my passion to teach teachers as well as students! My favorite subject is CURIOSITY and my favorite sport has recently changed to Rugby, but Oh I love soccer, football and baseball, too! I love to ask questions, collect weird and intriguing marbles, drink Peet's coffee (or Starbucks), read books, especially if I’m traveling around the world, and explore how poetry is not what we think! I love the books: Love that Dog, The Little Prince, Bloomability, Riding Freedom and A Long Way from Chicago. What do you love to do or think about? Contact me by e-mail.
